Meet Sergei Sorokin

My name is Sorokin Sergei Gennadavich (Sergei Sorokin). I was born February 27, 1977 in the city of Ivanovo in Russia. From 6 to 8 years old, I did sport gymnastics. From 12 to 15 years old, self defense wrestling, photography, sport-military training, and Greco- Roman wrestling.

I finished school in 1992 with high marks which allowed me to go to Machinist College without the need to take exams.

While studying in college the first year, at the age of 16, I heard the Gospel, gave my life to Jesus and committed myself to ministry for Him. At the same time, I became a member of Ivanovo Christian Center (ICC).

When I was 17, I had the opportunity to do mime for the first time. Later, because we did not have a leader, I took a break from mime. This lasted until the year 2001.

I successfully completed college and, at 19, I entered the Russian army. I was there for 2 years with the air forces in the Far East location of Russia.

After the army, I started to study in the Ivanovo Ministers Training Institute for 1 year. Then, at 22 years old, I received the calling to the ministry.

For 2 years, I worked on constructing our church building. After this I got the opportunity to work as an interpreter of English language in 2001.

I began to work with the missionary, Randy King and started, again, to do mime with Randy’s instruction. With Randy I have worked over 5 years.

During this time I have had great opportunities to minister in the many cities in Russia, and in Finland. We, also, have done mime concerts every year in the regional state drama theater.

As for church, I am a home group leader, a member of church staff, assistant youth pastor and help wherever I may be needed.

Also during the time of 2001 – 2005, I completed the North-West Academy of State Ministry at a new profession – lawyer.

I have a desire to increase the knowledge I have gotten and have begun working in my profession.

I’m a single man living with my parents and my niece. I love them very much.

I like sports, relationships with friends, tourism and the arts. I appreciate in people their faithfulness, honesty, goodness, kindness and purity. I play guitar and like to cook.
